Parents to Lose Tax Break

Congress is poised to close a sweet tax-saving loophole for families. Dependents over 18 will be barred from using the special 5% rate on capital gains for those in the 10-15% tax bracket. The change is retroactive to 1/1/07. This will affect those families who funnel assets they want to sell through their children.
