How Many Women Do Boards Need?

Only 15% of Fortune 500 board members are women; to be effective a board should have at least three women. Women broaden boards' discussions to better represent stockholders and customers; they can be more dogged than men in pursuing answers to difficult questions; and they bring a more collaborative approach to leadership.

Vietnam by the Numbers

Vietnam's economy is booming. GDP growth is the second highest in Asia, the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange Index is on the rise, and exports to the U.S., led by apparel and shoes are soaring, from 1 billion in 2000 to 6.5 billion in 2005.

College Apparel Big Business

According to Fortune's current issue, estimated retail sales of college apparel topped three billion last year. Since 2003, it's been growing 20% annually. With a double championship last year, U.T. sales topped 8.2 million; they broke the record held by Michigan, 6.2 million in 1993.
