The Alpha Male Syndrome

Kate Ludeman and Eddie Erlandson, both executive coaches living in Austin have published their latest book, Alpha Male Syndrome which describes four archtypes of leaders: 1) the commander, 2) the strategist, 3) the visionary, and 4) the executor. All leadership styles are important to the success of a company but they warn staff that there are risks involved as well. A very interesting read and must for anyone in executive coaching. Their book while written in the male gender is equally applicable to the Alpha Female.

Pepsi Hires Female CEO

Indra Nooyi takes the helm at PepsiCo. Pepsi has long been an advocate of minority hires to break the glass ceiling of the executive suites. 25% of Pepsi's managers are women. Nooyi was formerly Pepsi's CFO and was instrumental in acquiring Quaker Oats.
